Hardware Service Agreement

Review these draft service terms before drop-off. California legal review is needed before relying on them as an enforceable contract. Download an acknowledged copy, then agree the final scope and price with your technician.

Scope and authorization

  • I authorize Monterey Bay PCs to inspect and test the listed hardware for the requested work. The final work order must list the agreed scope, parts and price. Additional paid work, data erasure or operating-system reinstalls require separate approval. This acknowledgment does not authorize an unspecified charge.

Backups and data-loss risk

  • I am responsible for backing up important data before drop-off. Diagnostics, failing drives, repairs and software changes can cause data loss. Data recovery is not included unless agreed in writing. To the extent permitted by California law, the business does not guarantee preservation of data; this does not waive non-waivable rights or liability for fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Uncollected property: 30-day notice

  • Please arrange collection after notification that work is complete. After 30 days uncollected, we may begin the legally required notice process. Property is not automatically forfeited, sold or discarded at day 30. Any lien, storage charge or disposal must have a lawful basis, required notices and applicable waiting periods.

Component warranties and RMA

  • Component warranty eligibility, approval, replacement timing and exclusions are determined by the component manufacturer. We can assist with troubleshooting and RMA claims, but cannot guarantee manufacturer acceptance. Any shipping or out-of-warranty costs require prior approval. Our assembly support is separate from manufacturer coverage.

Ownership, privacy and consent

  • I own the equipment or am authorized by its owner. I will not include account passwords in this form. Access to files must be limited to the agreed service needs. Typing my legal name and checking the acknowledgments records electronic consent to these disclosed terms. I may request a paper copy and sign at drop-off instead.
